Memorandum of Meeting for The Council of presidents (C.O.P) 17th congress of WAML, Beijing, China October 17, 2008 
 
The CoP convened during the 17th congress of the WAML,
13 participants from different countries and associations attended the meeting as follows: Prof. Amnon Carmi (UNESCO), Prof. Roy Beran ACLM Australia), Prof. Wu Chong Gi (CAML China), Dr. Dekovic Sanjia (BHAML Bosnia & Herzegovina), Adv. Eduardo Dantas ( APAML Brazil), Adv. Jonathan Davies (IAML Israel), Dr. Samuel Wolfman, Adv. (ICMLE-Israel), Dr. Miroslava Vasinova (ECBQ – Italy), Dr. Jose Pinto Da Costa (MLSP – Portugal),Dr. Berna Arda ( TBA – Turkey), Prof. Rafael Aguiar (VAML, VARDD Venezuela), Prof. Tomas Naguchi (NAME USA), Prof. Richard S. Wilbur (ACLM USA),
 
The CoP elected Advocate Jonathan Davies from Israel as Chair person of CoP
This appointment was reported to the General Assembly of WAML that took place on October 19, 2008 at the 17th congress of WAML
 
The CoP decided as follows:
  
1.    To create a database of members of CoP as a functional organ of WAML that will be affiliated with National Associations and other institutions.
 
  1. Establish a Steering committee with representatives from all continents who will coordinate between present and potential affiliated members for CoP to carry out goals and interests of CoP to foster the goals of WAML and work together with the organs of WAML.
 
The members of the Steering committee are the following: Jonathan Davies, Prof. Wu Chongqi, Prof. Richard S. Wilbur, Adv. Eduardo Dantas, Dr. Berna Arda, Prof. Roy Beran (Secretary General, ex-officio member) and Prof. Rafael Aguiar (WAML Director of Committees).
 
3        Establish a membership roster with contact addresses, e-mail addresses on the website of WAML, with the names of the organization represented. This will facilitate and increase communication among the members of Council of Presidents (CoP). 
     
     4. Use the WAML website to create a Forum, where CoP and WAML members can exchange views, information and ideas on some selected global issues of biomedical and medical law and legal medicine.
 
 
5.   Inform the members of the CoP in advance of the Board meeting and direct the CoP to submit its report in advance for Board coordination as suggested in the Master Plan that was presented in Report of the Master Plan Committee (2004).
 
 
7.      CoP meetings should be scheduled at least twice, the first meeting one day prior to the general session of the WAML World Congress and the second meeting should be held immediate before the General Assembly or concluding meeting. Announcement of the date, time and room should be printed in the WAML program.
